The core component of eCampus is Blackboard’s learning management system (LMS). WVU is in the process of transitioning to Blackboard Learn, the next generation of Blackboard’s LMS. This new and improved system provides many additional features that can be used to enhance the teaching and learning experiences of faculty and students.
New Functionality and Features
The New WVU eCampus provides WVU faculty & students with many requested features as well as some new features. Newer features include:
Course Calendar – course items created with due dates are automatically added to the calendar.
Content Editor – true “what you see is what you get” editor that is easier to use than the current editor. Includes the Math Editor, which allows use of mathematic symbols and creation of formulas.
Mashups – add YouTube videos, Flickr photos, and SlideShare presentations. Can exist independently or as part of a test question, discussion board, or assignment.
Early Warning System – provides warnings about student performance. Faculty member determines criteria for warnings and can communicate issues to students.
Grade Center – analyzes students’ performance. Edit invalid assessment questions and the scores of all submitted assessments are recalculated.
Drag and Drop – move any item with a – or + next to it by clicking and dragging.
